All year long, ENELL gives back to non-profit partners that focus on breast and ovarian health through a portion of proceeds from HOPE (pink) bras. In honor of Breast Cancer Awareness Month, ENELL is doubling the donation to 20% proceeds of all HOPE bras to our friends at Casting for Recovery.
CfR’s retreats offer opportunities for women to find inspiration, discover renewed energy for life, and experience healing connections with other women and nature. The retreats are open to women with breast cancer of all ages, in all stages of treatment and recovery. For over 20 years, women from all walks of life have benefitted from CfR’s inspiring program model. They’ve served 10,000+ women but there is still more work to do, and we're happy to support their mission.
CfR provides free fly fishing retreats to women with breast cancer, offering 57 retreats across the country, serving over 700 women each year. For women who have had surgery or radiation as part of their breast cancer treatment, the gentle motion of fly casting can be good physical therapy for increasing mobility in the arm and upper body.
Here's a note we received from a CfR participant about the impact the retreat had on her:
"Thank you for your sponsorship which allowed me to participate in the September 11-13 Casting for Recovery at the Skytop Lodge, Skytop Pennsylvania. Hearing the stories of 13 other women and their breast cancer journey was inspiring beyond words. They are moms, sisters, grandmothers, aunts, daughters, best friends and wives. We all share the bond of breast cancer. The strength, kindness, courage, compassion and the positive words from everyone will always remain with me.
All the facilitators for the program were fabulous and need to be commended. Wendy from Casting for Recovery shares calmness and kindness with all. Each river guide showed tremendous compassion and patience.
This diagnosis is always on your mind, but it was really great to put it aside and enjoy the peaceful surroundings and fly fishing. It was an amazing experience!
I am tremendously grateful for your sponsorship and intend to fly fish again in the spring with my brother."
